Beta Patch

Well if anyone cares due to a screw up...or intentional one the testing patch was out via game's BETA tab option. Now it's gone but you can download the pack

Before you start
Go to BMGame > Config and DELETE BmEngine and BmSystemSettings


Step 1: Download Patch (search steam forums) or use the links here...

Step 2: Extract to folder
Step 3: Copy to Arkham Knight directory
Step 4: Replace any/all files
Step 5: Launch and reconfigure game's gfx. For nvidia smoke effect need to restart game.

Way better performance...it ONLY is a fix of the game has no photo mode or any DLC support. Just has way more gfx options.

Or just wait for the patch to release officially.

I don't know why but the game just crashes on my part. It sort of freezes and exit itself.
Do you maybe know why?
I tried verifying the game, add the files on followed every point of the guide.
Still get the same issue.

Update:
Got it to work. The problem was ReShade + SweetFX 2.0 which seems incompatible with the beta patch for some reason.
Maybe it will work again when the new official version of the patch is released.

For now I will stick to the beta patch considering the improvements I received with my GTX 980. Can finally run everything on the highest settings on 1080p with 60 FPS.

The DLC mods which were available on the Steam community doesn't work either with the beta patch. Also incompatible.

Patch is out officially just hit verify files if something is screwed and then it will fix the game....and then update.

That's great!
Now we just need the DLC.
They better give us the season pass or most of their DLC's for free to make it up along with the patch.
And of course a free game to those who already bought the season pass.

Update:
I can't download the update. I verify the game cache, steam says there are files to be reaquired and then nothing else happens.
And the update lies in the queue, but when I try to start it, it just pause itself automatically.

Update 2:
I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game.
My network is quite fast, so it doesn't take long to download.

Yeah I needed to redownload the game as well....all the mods and other crap I tried including beta patch F'ed up the game beyond repair lol.

You know what...the dense ps4 rain effect is still not there. The suit rain effect dies away after a reload. So Rocksteady only fixed performance issue to a certain degree.

So proper game fixes to make it on par with ps4 will take...lets say two more months? Hey it's RS is not that bad...but in no way they are that good or like avalanche studios or anything.

I actually have noticed the rain effects more, even after a reload.
The thing is even if the effects dies off, after playing for a little while after the reload, the effect returns and slowly becomes more present.

While playing I definitely noticed quite dense rain effect, and was while continuing a save.
So it is improved after this new patch, but rather unstable I would say.

They are going to make more changes to improvements and performance they say.
The rain effects could also get further improvements. The next patch are also going to support the latest DLC.
With luck we might get it before they release the Arkham Asylum skin and the Tumbler.

When it comes to performance it runs much better on my system.
But I use a GTX 980 clocked version with Intel i7 4790k.
I run the game with the highest settings and with Film Grain off.
Chromatic Abberation is still on, I think it fits the game a bit. But when I decide to play through it again with other skins I will turn it off too.

Really? It's nowhere near what the ps4 has....it has a heavy rain going on which just isn't there in pc.

And then this thinnig of the effects...


Oh well next patch I guess.

Well I have had the effects from the new game picture after a reload.
But as I said, it's unstable. Sometimes the effects die off, later in the game it returns and are hugely noticeable.
Let's hope the next patch stabilizes that more.
